MUST READ: A PET FOR PETUNIA by Paul Schmid

I am DELIRIOUSLY happy. I have always wished for the PERFECT skunk picture book.
I got my wish!
A PET FOR PETUNIA by Paul Schmid (Harper, 2011) is not your typical "child wants a pet" PB. Sure, there are the standard pleas and promises to the parents regarding feeding and walking and sanitation.
But Petunia doesn't want a dog or a cat...
Hysterical twist + witty text + delightful illustrations = MUST READ!

  1. Thanks, Kristin! You made my day! It was designed by Illustrator/Designer extraordinaire Donna Farrell, who is sweet and funny and UBER talented! And glad you love Paul's excellent book, too! Did you see on the back where he said he wants a pet sloth? AWESOME!

  2. You know, I think I saw this on the shelf (face front) at Barnes recently :) I'll have to look again. They literally just finished rearranging the entire children's dept *sigh* Now I have to learn it ALL over again! It was the same for years and I knew it in my sleep! They've revamped the entire store several times over the past few years and it's MUY irritating!

Ame, you're always posting good books to read. I really need to start making a new list! :)

  3. On the bright side, Donna, now you might find books that had been semi-hidden in a bad shelf spot before, right? (But, I also feel your pain. My grocery store keeps rearranging, too. "WHERE ARE THE OLIVES?!") ;) Thanks for the kind words!
